Antonia Pintado

July 25, 1938 — June 28, 2020

Antonia Pintado, age 81, the beloved daughter of the late Dionisio Mulero and the late Francisca DeJesus has entered the peaceful rest of the Lord on June 28, 2020, while resting but surrounded at home by the love of her family. Antonia which many graciously called Mama, was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport area over 50 years ago. A loving woman who had one focus throughout her life, her family, and creating memories and moments that today they will forever Cherish! She was a very joyful woman who had a personality which many were attracted to. She loved making people feel welcomed in her home or wherever she was. Her joy was contagious, her love was magnetic and her heart paralleled to none. Antonia, throughout her life enjoyed having her doors open to receive friends and family at anytime. Everyone knew she was a great cook, & she enticed family to gather as frequently as they could to enjoy her special touch of Mama's cooking. Her ideal day was to enjoy good retail therapy, a delicious dinner and her family by her side. She spoiled her grandchildren and great grandchildren alike, and they knew that, and loved her alike. There was nothing she cherished more than moments with them, enjoying every minute they would be with her. She loved the Lord and for many years attended St. Mary's Parish in Bridgeport. Her husband, Diosdado Navarro, never left her side and were unseparable until the day she took her last breath, faithful till the end! Besides her husband Mama is survived by her children Miriam Gonzalez, Evelyn Pintado and Jose Pintado; her grandchildren Jazmin Perez, Jonathan Gonzalez, Stephanie Perez; her great grandchildren Payton Gonzalez, Taylor Gonzalez and Lord Gonzalez; and a host of other relatives and many friends whom will forever miss her smile, her love, and above all her presence. In addition to her parents, Antonia is preceded in death by her Grandson the Late Jimmy Muñoz. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 2, 2020 beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 12:40 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06608 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in ST. Mary's Parish, Bridgeport, CT; Interment will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe, CT. Please note the Following information below regarding COVID-19 state of Connecticut Phases implementation and current restrictions in place for the health and well being of the general public! The COVID-19 Virus, the rules, regulations, limitations, and everything that has been stated by the government health officials has been challenging for all and funeral homes are not exempt from such plentiful rules and regulations. We just want everyone to keep in mind, thus regulations and rules are made for the GENERAL well being and health of the public. Please be advised that during the current phase of the COVID-19 Pandemic, as our State once again moves on to open and return back to normal implementing each phase, the current guidelines have determined that during viewing and visitation, and Funeral Services, 49 persons or less would be the amount of persons permitted inside the funeral home at one given time in order for the 6 ft social distancing requirements are able to be applied. Such number is determined by the measurements of the square footage of the facility divided by 36, then divided by 4 which would equal the number of persons permitted. Therefore, we have determined that the back door of the funeral home will be EXCLUSIVE ENTRANCE AND EXIT utilized as a form of crowd control and be able to confirm the amount of persons inside at all times. All done to prevent going over such number inside the facility at one given time, thus preserving and permitting the safe, non threatening atmosphere each person should enjoy during the current times. Please know that although we always welcome visitors during services, please consider these restrictions that have been implemented to protect the health and wellbeing of all parties present including funeral home staff alike. We understand the importance of showing support and above all our appreciation to someone who meant so much, but we encourage those that can be able to consider the family who is also grieving and join us via Zoom vs. in person, as the family will always be aware of those online with the screen visible to see those online, but having a line of persons outside will create many family members to move away from the place they want to be, Inside the funeral home with their loved one) to grant others the opportunity to come inside as they step outside. therefore please consider such alternative vs. the removal of family members from the chapel to grant access to others as the number of attendees inside the funeral home is strictly adhered to, without exception of person, or disability as these regulations are set forth for the GENERAL Health and well being of the GENERAL Public, therefore, these things are not optional. Finally, for those whom do arrive, please be advised, without exception, MASKS MUST BE WORN TO ENTER AND DURING THE ENTIRE TIME ANYONE IS INSIDE THE FACILITY. It is a law and therefore anyone within the City of Bridgeport outside their home MUST wear a Mask in any public setting and Funeral homes and services is considered a public setting....
