Francisca Cardona Castro

Francisca Cardona Castro, age 90, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 28, 2020 at her Bridgeport residence surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Augusto Castro, Sr. Francisca was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Nicolas Cardona and Ramona Gonzalez prior to relocating to the Bridgeport area many years ago. Mrs. Castro loved singing, gardening and a good trip to the casino, where she would be content playing her favorite slot machines. Most of all, she loved cooking; especially her famous holiday pasteles. Francisca is the loving mother of Margarita (Manuel) Jardim, Brunilda (Quinton) Rivera, William (Miriam) Castro, John Castro, Frank Castro, James (Rosaura) Castro, Manuel Castro, and Augusto (Yvette) Castro, Jr; and the grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Milagros Garcia, one grandchild Rafael Garcia Jr., and her sister, Luz Maria Robles. Family and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608.
