Mariana Camacho

April 17, 1929 — April 14, 2021

Mariana Camacho, age 91, the beloved widow of the late Cesar Camacho has passed into the Glorious presence of the Lord on April 14, 2021 in Ludlowe Healthcare Center, Fairfield, CT; Mariana was born and raised in San Sebastian de Pepino, Puerto Rico, and the eldest of 11 children of the late Jose Rosa Cardona and the late Amparo Fuentes; She had relocated to the Bridgeport area where she has resided for the past 67 years. Mariana was a woman full of life. When you found out her age, you would have been surprised because her energy, her spunk and joyful spirit was contagious beyond comprehension. People would say, where does she get all this energy from? At every event, every party and every family function you could find Mariana on the dance floor, enjoying every bit of every song and every step. Mariana was a woman of faith and for many years was an active member of Iglesia La Providencia. Soon after became member of St. Anthony’s church and was a strong and spirited part in the development of what today many of us enjoy and some have even taken for granted. She played an active role as a choir member, Cofrada and Cursillista and later a member of Blessed Sacrament. She had been employed for many years at the Lorraine Industries in Bridgeport before retiring. She had an unconditional love and friendship with the Nuns of Mary Immaculate where she loved to make her arroz con salchicha. She enjoyed traveling, shopping as it gave her the reasons to get all dolled up and looking as great as everyone saw her wherever she went. She looked forward to some fun evenings at the local casinos and whether or not there were winnings, she knew in her heart, there was always winning because it was spending time with those she loved the most. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren can today appreciate and cherished the memories Mariana made throughout their lives and will remain with them for the rest of theirs. No one can forget her love and passion she had for the elephants. Her contagious smile, spirit, joy and charisma was nothing less than one that has defined the wonderful woman today many call mom, grandma, sister and friend. A vibrant woman until the end. Even after her passing those that surrounded her, can feel the same love and spirit in her family that Mariana instilled in them. Mariana, you may have left this earth, but you touched many hearts and minds during your presence. Above all the marks you made....you will be cherished as the priceless Gem you were as a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend! Mariana is survived by her son Cesar A. Camacho Jr. and his spouse Soledad; her daughters Awilda Camacho, Brenda Planas and her spouse Victor and Beatrice Torres and her spouse John; her siblings Doris Fuentes, Georgina Rosa, Raul Rosa, Luis Rosa, Elba Rosa and Concepcion Rosa and predeceased brothers; Norberto, Víctor and Miguel Rosa.
