Pablo R. Perez

Pablo R. Perez, age 83, of Stratford, passed away into the Presence of the Lord on August 30, 2022, in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT.  Pablo was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico to the late Pablo Perez and the late Maria E. Rodriguez.  He is the beloved husband of Ida I. Perez of Stratford, CT whom he married over 56 years ago. He relocated to the Bridgeport area at an early age and became a graduate of Harding High School, in Bridgeport.  He served our country in the United States Army.  Pablo was proud to be Puerto Rican and worked throughout his life demonstrating the commitment of his generation and the Puerto Rican people who worked hard and always made sure his family was provided for and blessed others with the blessings bestowed upon him. He lived many years in Bridgeport and had a shoe store many knew and visited called la Unica on East Main Street in Bridgeport. He loved children and whenever around them he engaged with them, playing baseball, bowling, golf and more.  There was no sport Pablo did not enjoy.  Many knew him as a Champion Billiard player who dominated the table whenever he played.  He loved music and you could easily find him dancing at all functions he attended. Together with his beloved, they instilled love for their "Patria" in their children who lived in the mainland embraced their culture.  For many years they were members of St. Mary's Parish dating back to the 1970s.  

In addition to his beloved Ida, Pablo is survived by his daughter Vivien Perez of Stratford, CT,  his grandson Joshua Perez,  great-grandchildren Carter J. Perez and Violet Perez,  his siblings Miguel Perez, Diana A. Perez Rodriguez and Milagros Gloria Perez. He will be dearly missed by all.  He was preceded in death by one son the late Pablo Perez, and a brother, the late Luis A. Perez.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, beginning at 9:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. followed by  a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's Church, 25 Sherman  St., Bridgeport, CT.  Entombment will follow immediately after at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
