Adelaida Hernandez

October 16, 1940 — March 27, 2022

Adelaida Hernandez, 81, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in her Stratford residence surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico to the late Leopoldo and Juana Perez. She is the beloved wife of 59 years of Tomas Hernandez.

Adelaida was a very wise and demure woman. She was a dedicated employee of Heim Inc. in Fairfield, CT. Her main priorities were to serve the Lord and her entire family. She took great pride in how she maintained her home and prepared many delicious meals with a dash of love. Even in her last days, she prayed for her family and their care was what she fretted over.

Aside from her beloved husband, Adelaida leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Rene Hernandez and Saudi Cruz (Luis), her adoring grandchildren Daniel Hernandez (Laura), Vanessa Medina (Jonathan), Monica Medina and Marissa Medina and her great-grandson Daniel Luis Hernandez Jr. and another to arrive soon, her dear siblings Leopoldo Jr, Victor, and Angelita. She was predeceased by a daughter Zaida Hernandez and her siblings Ramona and Juvenal, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Friday, April 1 at 8:45 AM - 9:45 AM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 695 Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2695 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
