October 16, 1928 — April 21, 2020

Adeline Hernandez-Torres beloved wife of the late Ricardo Hernandez passed away on Tues. April 21, 2020 in the presence of her loving family. Adeline was born on October 16, 1928 to the late Carlos Torres Antonetty and Eugenia Garcia Flores in Playa Ponce, Puerto Rico. "Yaya" as she was so lovingly called was a proud homemaker, devoted wife and loving mom to 11 children She enjoyed cooking and feeding her family as well as the many people who came to be known as family throughout the years. Yaya was a die-hard METS fan. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters and seven sons: Adeline Hernandez-Rivera (Edwin), Oneida Sanchez (Luis), Evelyn Hernandez, Vicki Hernandez (Michell), Richard Hernandez Jr., Edwin Hernandez, Ralphy Hernandez (Cathy), David Hernandez, Paul Hernandez (Inez), Charles Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, David Osorio (Elizabeth) and Anthony Simpson "Scooter" were Yaya's bonus sons whom she loved as her own. She also leaves 30 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 6 great- great grandchildren who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her siblings, Indalecio Torres, Eloisa Torres and Lydia Torres. Viewing will be held at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Friday, April 24, 2020 from 4-7 P.M. Burial will take place on Monday, April 27, 2020 where the gathering of processional vehicles will take place at the Funeral Home Parking Lot at 9:30 A.M. for an prompt departure to Mt. Grove Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. for the burial to take place. PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW TO BETTER ASSIST US AS WE STRIVE TO CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE ALL CAN APPRECIATE AND SHARE! Please be aware that only those selected 10 members of the family will be permitted on the gravesite per cemetery regulations and Department of Health regulations for the health and well being of the public, including Social Distancing. Anyone other than those selected to be at the gravesite, MUST remain in their vehicles for the entire burial service. We are so encouraged as to the amount of persons who have so much Love, Affection and care for Adeline and funerals have become one of the most recent times which we come into contact with many we had lost contact with. Let us encourage our observation of the restrictions set forth as to the limitations for the health and well being of the public and doing so is our way of contributing to the life and memory of Adeline. One safe tool that can be used to reminisce about Adeline is to logon to our virtual Meeting Room where you can see the chapel during the viewing hours and can share with each other, online and in the chapel as if we were all sitting in the same room. Memories are what last forever, our sharing them, brings that past into the present and each day allow us to cherish those memories for a happier tomorrow! The ACTUAL BURIAL WILL BE LIVE AS IT IS HAPPENING! For those in the vehicles that cannot come up to the actual grave site, you will be able to hear the service as it is happening along with receiving instructions to come up to place your flowers if permission from the cemetery is able to be obtained. Please remember the Funeral Home does not have any authority, nor does it dictate what the protocols implemented at the Cemetery and the execution of such rules. We only inform everyone the rules we have been told everyone must abide by. Thank you for keeping such information in mind. Finally we would like to remind everyone that during the webcast it is virtually one room where together everyone is watching what is happening and ALSO hear each other, talk to each other and everything is heard. We kindly request this is kept in mind in consideration of others who may join us and if there is background noise where you are, it may be extremely disturbing and therefore request your microphone be muted during the time of such disturbing sounds allowing those along with you to hear more clearly what is being said.
