Listen to Obituary

Aida Luz Graulau was born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, on October 16, 1967, to Rafael Graulau and Ana Corchado. In 1986, she made her new home in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Aida was cheerful, exceptionally neat, and loved music. She enjoyed singing and playing musical instruments. She also loved listening to the romantic sounds of Juan Gabriel, Yolandita Monge, and Pimpinela. Aida loved God and was devoted to Him. She enjoyed writing poetry that inspired forgiveness, love, and second chances. Aida held no grudges against anyone, so if remorse touches your heart, do not let it enter, because my mother has already forgiven you. Aida was always willing to help and give to those in need without expecting anything in return. Although she faced many mental health struggles and endured dark moments in her life, she always knew that God was with her.

Aida's final residence was at the Maefair Rehabilitation Center in Trumbull, Connecticut. While battling cancer, she was cared for by a wonderful team of dedicated staff members. On behalf of Aida's family, we are deeply grateful to them and extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Maefair staff.

Aida will continue to live on in her three children, Tanairi Luz Nieves, Angel Nieves, and Zulmarie Toledo Sanchez; Rafael Magura and Kenny Magura; her beloved siblings, Carmen Graulau Figueroa, Rosa Graulau Murray, and Rafael Graulau; her precious grandchildren, Yandel Ramos, Angelimarie Nieves, Damien Nieves, and Yariel Nieves; and her great-grandchildren, Leo and Melody.

Aida will be dearly missed forever! However, we have the assurance that those who die in Christ do not truly die but sleep. Therefore, this is not a goodbye, but rather a “see you soon” in Paradise.

Everyone is invited to celebrate the life of a wonderful person, Aida Luz Graulau, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut.
