Aida L. Padilla, 67, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in Bridgeport on November 10, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Julio Padilla and the late Luz Garcia.

Aida was spontaneous and full of life—someone who could light up any room she entered. She had a passion for classic black-and-white films, was an enthusiastic New York Yankees and Giants fan, and loved being the life of the party wherever she went. Her laughter, charm, and genuine presence left an impression on everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved son, Sammy Acosta (Shaneeza); and her niece, Jayda Tobin, whom she cherished as a daughter. She will be dearly missed by her siblings: Carlos R. Martinez (Sorina), Santa Ayala, Miriam Perez (Jose), Lebby Mercado (Jose), and Elizabeth Soto (Isaias). She also leaves behind her lifelong partner, Rick Borishko, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Aida’s faithful companion, her bird Penelope, who was with her for many years, preceded her in passing—but their bond lives on in memory.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time of service at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.

 A Funeral Service will begin at approximately 12:30 PM, followed by interment at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT, with an expected arrival time of 1:45 PM.
