Alejandro Rodriguez, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Bridgeport, CT, on August 16, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on March 10, 1928, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Alejandro's journey through life was marked by profound faith, unwavering loyalty, and a deep love for his family and community.

Alejandro's professional life was spent as a dedicated and proficient employee at Engineer Tools in Stratford, CT, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Despite having limited formal education, he was a man of great intellect and diligence, exemplifying the belief that knowledge can be gathered from experience and life's teachings. His meticulous and well-organized nature made him a pillar of strength to those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A devout Catholic, Alejandro humbly served the Lord as an active member of St. Mary's Parish in Bridgeport for many years. He was a proud member of El Santo Nombre and participated in El Cursillo de Cristiandad. Alejandro also served as a Eucharistic Minister, Minister of the Word of God, and was a longtime member of various church committees, including the Parish Council, Building Committee, Choir, and Festivals. His commitment to his faith and community was inspiring, and his presence will be deeply missed by his fellow parishioners.

Alejandro was known for his quiet demeanor, but when he spoke, his words were profoundly wise and thoughtful. He possessed a good temper and a peaceful spirit that radiated warmth to everyone around him. An avid reader, he particularly enjoyed delving into the Bible and books regarding Catholic theology, deepening his understanding of his faith and sharing that wisdom with his family.

His greatest joys in life were his cherished family, including his beloved wife of over 70 years, Maria Torres Rodriguez, and their loving children: Sonia Maria, Laura, Alejandro Jr. (Patricia), Eduardo and Zaida (Cliff). Alejandro took immense pride in his role as a father, grandparent, and great-grandparent, adoring his grandchildren: Ruben, Nicholas, Ivan, Daniel, and Victoria, as well as his great-grandchildren: Michelle, Michael, Elena, Alexandra, Nariyah, Autumn Love, and Anthony. His family was his pride and joy, and the love they shared created a legacy that will carry on through generations.

Alejandro's remarkable achievements included being a recipient of the St. Gregory the Great Medal and being honored with the Medal of St. Augustine, recognitions that exemplified his dedication to his faith and community service.He is survived by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dear sister Carmen. Alejandro was preceded in death by his parents, Rogelio Rodriguez and Sandalia Rosario, as well as his siblings: Virginia, Nicolas, Ana Maria Luisa, Maria Magdalena, Policarpo, Rafaela, Alfonso, and Jose Talcisio.

As we remember Alejandro Rodriguez, let us celebrate a life lived with integrity, love, and faith. His peaceful spirit and wise words will continue to resonate in our hearts, inspiring us to live with the same loyalty and dedication that he exemplified throughout his remarkable life. He may have departed from our sight, but his presence will forever remain with us, guiding us as we cherish the memories of a truly extraordinary man.

All are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. A mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 540 Pembroke St, Bridgeport, CT. Burial will follow immediately afterwards at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 1625 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Our father’s wishes were that no one wear “black” to his funeral. Our family is wearing white and pastel colors.

Alejandro Rodríguez, un esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo y amigo devoto, falleció en su hogar en Bridgeport, CT, el 16 de agosto de 2025, a la edad de 97 años. Nacido el 10 de marzo de 1928 en San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, el camino de Alejandro por la vida estuvo marcado por una fe profunda, una dedicación a servir a Dios y un gran amor por su familia y comunidad.

La vida profesional de Alejandro transcurrió como un empleado dedicado y competente en Engineer Tools, en Stratford, CT, donde se ganó el respeto y la admiración de sus colegas. A pesar de tener una educación formal limitada, fue un hombre de gran intelecto y diligencia, ejemplificando la creencia de que el conocimiento se adquiere de la experiencia y de las enseñanzas de la vida.
