Alisha Lizette Cruz

With deep love, we share the passing of Alisha Lizette Cruz, 47, who left us peacefully on August 6, 2026. Born on November 29, 1978, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Alisha’s vibrant light, creativity, and warm spirit touched everyone who knew her. 

Alisha proudly served her community for many years, most recently bringing her meticulous care and love for helping others to the Bridgeport Department of Vital Records. She was a true original with a bubbly energy, an affectionate nature, and a heart of gold. She was the absolute foundation of her family, blending boundless kindness with a fierce strength. 

Her husband, Miguel Cruz, was her devoted partner and closest confidant, sharing a life built on love and laughter. Alisha embraced motherhood with her whole heart, raising her daughters, Mesmerize Rivera, Akazha Baldwin, and Nyla Cruz. Her daughters were her heart, and she poured into them the love, kindness, strength, and values instilled in her. Though she may not have had the opportunity to teach them everything she dreamed of, the lessons and love she gave them will remain forever. Her strength, tenderness, laughter, and even her “spice” will live on through them. As a grandmother, Alisha was affectionately known as “Nina” by her beloved grandsons, Dominic Rivera and Jose Rodriguez, treasuring every moment they spent together. 

The circle of family who drew strength from Alisha’s loving presence includes her loving parents, Israel Vega Cruz and Ana Negron, who will forever carry the love and memories of their daughter; and her brother, Carlos Cruz. Alisha also shared a very special bond with her mother in law Irma Soto, and was deeply loved by sister-in-law‘s Nancy, Janet, Lissette, and her brother-in-law Maximo Cruz, and Alexie Alvarez, who lovingly embraced her as one of their own. She was cherished and deeply loved.   Together, they shared countless moments of love, laughter, support, and beautiful memories that will forever remain in their hearts.

 She was also deeply blessed by Samuel T. Baldwin and Barbara Baldwin, whose endless love and devotion surrounded her throughout her life. She shared an unbreakable bond of friendship with her best friend Sacha Fernandez who was always by her side, and her cherished godson, Samuel Montanez, whom she held dearly in her heart. She also leaves behind a beautiful circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends, all of whom meant the absolute world to her and filled her life with endless joy.

All are invited to celebrate the beautiful life of Alisha Lizette Cruz on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  

 Alisha's legacy of love and joy continues through her family and friends, living on in the memories of her laughter, cooking, dancing, and kindness. Her physical journey may have come to an end, but her immense love lives on in every person whose life she touched. Alisha will be loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and remembered forever. The world was brighter because Alisha was in it. She was deeply loved, truly one of a kind, and her presence can never be replaced.
