It is with both heavy hearts and joyful memories that we celebrate the life of Ana Delia Rodriguez, who was born on October 15, 1944, in the vibrant town of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Ana gracefully transitioned to her eternal rest on May 18, 2026, in Trumbull, Connecticut.

Ana was a beacon of warmth and love, illuminating the lives of everyone she encountered. She attended Colegio de la Milagrosa in Puerto Rico for four years, where her devotion to God and the values of faith, kindness, and compassion became deeply rooted in her heart from an early age. Her love for God was never simply a part of her life—it was the foundation upon which she lived each day. After completing her education, Ana relocated to the mainland United States, where she continued to embrace life and those around her with open arms and an extraordinary heart. She carried with her a spirit of generosity and affection that touched everyone she encountered. Ana’s joyful presence brought laughter, comfort, and togetherness to every family gathering, where her signature dishes quickly became beloved traditions all their own.Children held a very special place in her heart, always bringing a sparkle to her eyes. Her loving nature was beautifully reflected through her role as an “abuelita” within local school classrooms, where she shared warmth, encouragement, and the unique tenderness that only she could give. Ana was also deeply talented and creative. She had a gift for transforming ordinary spaces into welcoming and beautiful environments through floral arrangements, thoughtful decorations, and hand-knitted creations that today remain cherished keepsakes for those she loved. Her talents extended into the kitchen as well, where she lovingly prepared traditional Puerto Rican dishes for the priests at her church, serving others in the quiet and selfless way that defined her life. Though her financial means may not have been abundant by some standards, Ana never allowed that to limit her generosity. Somehow, she always found a way to make every family member feel remembered, valued, and loved, through thoughtful gifts given straight from her heart at every holiday and birthday celebration.

Ana is survived by her beloved son, Jimmy Bencosme, her precious granddaughters Yasmin and Ayanna and her cherished sisters, Gladys Mercado and Miriam Pagan, as well as a multitude of friends and family who will carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. Her unwavering spirit and nurturing nature left a profound impact on all who had the honor of knowing her.
