Angel Luis Torres

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Angel Luis Torres, affectionately known as Maguen to family and Angelo to close friends, who left this world on December 23, 2025, in Bridgeport, CT. Born on August 27, 1946, in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, Angel's life was one filled with love, laughter, and a tireless work ethic that inspired all who knew him.

Angel dedicated a remarkable 17 years of his career to General Electric as a machinist before bringing his extraordinary carpentry talents to the Housing Department for over two decades. His contributions to both fields were not only a testament to his skills but also to his hardworking and diligent nature, which he carried into every aspect of his life.

Beloved above all by his family, Angel was a social and festive spirit, whose warm presence would light up any gathering. He treasured moments spent with loved ones, especially during traditional family events, where hosting pig roasts became a cherished hallmark of his life. The Christmas season held a special place in his heart. His love for the season was encapsulated in his fondness for “Parrandas Navideñas,” a tradition that brought joy and connection to family and friends alike. It is fitting that Angel chose to celebrate his wedding to his beloved wife, Rosa, on December 19, surrounded by the magic of the holiday spirit and even his passing during the Christmas season.

In addition to his family celebrations, Angel found solace and joy in the great outdoors. An avid fisherman, he could often be found in Seaside Park, casting a line and savoring the tranquility of nature.

Angel is survived by his devoted wife, Rosa Torres, and his cherished daughters: Wanda, Wendy, and Doreen, who will carry his legacy forward in their hearts and lives. He has reunited with his beloved daughter, Marybel, and will be deeply missed by his parents, Jesus Torres and Flora Vazquez, who have also passed.

A viewing to honor the life of Angel Luis Torres will be held on December 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608.  Final interment will take place in his beloved hometown of Aibonito, Puerto Rico.

As our hearts mourn the loss of Angel, we also celebrate the life of a man who was more than just a father or husband; he was a true friend, a master craftsman, and a beacon of joy for all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy of love, laughter, and passion for life will continue to resonate through all of those fortunate enough to call him family.

The family is appreciative of all the well wishes, prayers and support. They request that flowers NOT be sent to the funeral home as his remains will be departing to Puerto Rico the following day.
