Angela H. Garibay, a radiant soul whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Born on June 4, 1965, in Lima, Peru, Angela carried with her a joyous energy and unwavering loyalty that defined her beautiful life.

Angela’s journey was one marked by devotion and love. She spent many years bringing great joy to those around her through the delicious dishes she prepared with care and affection. Her culinary talents were a reflection of her nurturing heart. Beyond her kitchen, Angela worked diligently to ensure the homes of others were cared for with meticulous attention and kindness, demonstrating her generous nature and strong sense of responsibility.

Her happiness and vibrancy were infectious. Passionate about dancing to salsa and Peruvian music, Angela found great joy in movement and rhythm, sharing these moments with her friends and loved ones. She cherished spending time at the gym and was an active participant in volleyball, always embracing life with enthusiasm. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Angela’s faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. She also cherished traveling extensively throughout Europe, especially Italy, and held a special place in her heart for her homeland, Peru.

Angela’s greatest accomplishment, however, was her role as an extraordinary mother to her son Diego, who was the pride and joy of her life. Her devotion to Diego was boundless, and their bond was a testament to her selfless love and unwavering support.

Her sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of her family and community. Angela is lovingly remembered by her dear husband Raul Mimbacas and her devoted son Diego Mimbacas. She is also survived by her mother, Leonila Ortiz, and her siblings Melba, Jacinta, Angel, and Miguel, each of whom carries forward the legacy of her love and warmth.

Angela was preceded in death by her father, Juan Garibay, and her siblings Juan and Jose, who await reunion in the peace beyond this world.

The community will gather to honor Angela’s memory with a viewing on March 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 26 Bonnie View Drive in Trumbull, Connecticut. The funeral service will take place the following morning, March 28, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Ave, Bridgeport, at 10:30 a.m.

Angela’s life was a vivid tapestry of joy, love, faith, and dedication. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her, forever inspired by her spirited dance through life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

También atesoraba viajar extensamente por Europa, especialmente Italia, y guardaba un lugar especial en su corazón para su tierra natal, Perú.

Sin embargo, su mayor logro fue su papel como una madre extraordinaria para su hijo Diego, quien era el orgullo y la alegría de su vida. Su devoción por Diego no tenía límites, y su vínculo era un testimonio de su amor desinteresado y su apoyo incondicional. 

Su partida repentina ha dejado un profundo vacío en los corazones de su familia y comunidad. Ángela es recordada con amor por su querido esposo Raúl Mimbacas y su devoto hijo Diego Mimbacas. También le sobreviven su madre, Leonila Ortiz, y sus hermanos Melba, Jacinta, Ángel y Miguel, cada uno de los cuales continúa el legado de su amor y calidez.
