Aramita Torres

May 1, 1952 — January 10, 2021

Aramita Torres, age 68, beloved daughter of Monserate Torres of New Haven, and the late Bernabes Torres has passed into the peaceful rest of the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT; Aramita was born in Lares, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the United States long time ago at an early age. She was an amazing person who would not cease to amaze everyone around her. Her joy, her joyful spirit was one which fueled the creation of many memories of Good times and unforgettable times during which family events brought together those she loved so much. Her selfless persona was one that was clearly evident each time someone came to her door. Regardless of who you were, where you have been, where you were going, Aramita believed you were hungry and needed to eat. So her door was open and her table was ready at all times. She was constantly making sure everyone was ok and taken care of. She loved her mother with all her strength, whom at over 90 years of age the spent so much time together that nothing mom could wish for was out of her reach. Mom was hungry, mom had to eat, she wanted anything, Aramita made sure she got everything. Even in her most recent days where her health was being challenged, the phone calls never stopped just to make sure mom had everything she needed, anything she mentioned and everything within her reach. a heart which evidently honored her mother with every little bit she had. She was an active member of the Iglesia Cristiana la Fe where she worshipped and cultivated a very active and amazing relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She never smothered anyone with her spiritual convictions but one thing she had was an evident provider of fruit which is clearly the solid message hearts need to see because she believed the scripture which states , they will come to know you by your fruits! Aramita was clearly an example of such a person. a heart of Gold, full of love for her God, for her family, and even the unknown fellow man. She will be sadly missed by all. Besides her mother, Aramita is survived by her children Jason Crespo and his spouse Lauren Hendrickson, William Torres and his wife Christina, and Cynthia S. Cepeda and her husband William; her loving grandchildren Luis Davila, Joshua Crespo, Justin Torres, Jayden Crespo, Jazmin Crespo, Jackson Crespo, Jameson Crespo, Matteo Torres, Sebastian Torres and Jionni Torres , William A. Cepeda, Adrianna Cepeda and Joshua A. Crespo; her siblings Luz N. Alicea, Elsa Gonzalez, Esperanza Torres, Haydee Lopez and Roberta Torres; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will sorely miss her; in addition to her father, Aramita is preceded in death by her brother Alfredo Torres, her sister the late Inez Torres and her brother the late Eugenio Torres; Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 15, 2021 beginning at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service at approx. 1:00 P.M. and all will be held at the Iglesia Cristiana Fe Asamblea de Dios, 141 Sylvan Avenue, New Haven, CT; Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT; Please sign our online memorial Register book where you can share your thoughts, memories, prayers, pictures and so much more but is EXCLUSIVELY found ONLY at www.luzdepaz.com; ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the current time of which our entire country is under a very fragile Health crisis, we encourage everyone to keep in mind the Rules and Regulations set forth by the State of Connecticut Health Department. Your health and well being is not something up for debate as to the severity of its importance. Therefore, during the services for Aramita, just like she cared for her fellow man, we also practice such care for everyone whom is considering being part of her services; The church will be accommodating to the best of its ability the attendance of all, BUT it is imperative to keep in mind the amount of persons permitted inside the facility during any given time and ultimately such number is limited, and must be kept within those guidelines without exception; Therefore, anyone outside of the immediate family (Aramita's children, grandchildren, mother and spouses of) will be asked not to remain inside the facility during the viewing, yet after paying your respects to please proceed outside right after viewing the body and greeting the family. We kindly request nobody remain seated inside the church unless your one of those members of immediate family. Although it is the intention of the church and funeral home staff alike to try and make sure everyone is able to come through, it is only through the cooperation of EVERYONE in attendance that this may be accomplished. MASKS COVERING NOSE AND MOUTH ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES, ALONG WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING PRACTICES IS ENCOURAGED while inside the facility and alternative times require alternative functionality of what many of us may be accustomed in our daily lives.
