Aurora M. Rodriguez

December 28, 1930 – August 29, 2026

Aurora M. Rodriguez, age 95, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 29, 2026, peacefully in her home.

Born on December 28, 1930, in Comerío, Puerto Rico, Aurora was the beloved daughter of the late Dolores Morales and Isidra Gonzalez. Proud of her Puerto Rican roots, she carried with her throughout life the strength, warmth, humor, and traditions of home.

Aurora was a hardworking and remarkably detail-oriented woman. She spent approximately 40 years working as a machine operator at Remington before retiring, dedicating much of her life to providing for and caring for those she loved. Yet work was only one chapter of a much richer story.

Aurora enjoyed traveling, especially cruising and loved visiting casinos, but some of her greatest happiness was found simply being surrounded by family. Her arroz con gandules and potato salad were what her family and friends would consider "the best" and those familiar dishes became part of the memories gathered around her table.

To the younger generations, Aurora was much more than a grandmother. She will affectionately be remembered as "wela" the “cool grandma.” Every now and then, she would even join the younger crowd for little "events" becoming not only their grandmother but one of the gang. Those moments captured something special about Aurora: she could span generations effortlessly, sharing laughter and making everyone around her feel comfortable and loved.

Aurora leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted daughter, Ana I. Rodriguez; her siblings, Dolores “Lola” Morales and Jose “Con” Morales; A special niece, Annie Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Ada "Booboo", Shaun, Gladys, Jeremy, Jason; great-grands, James, Gio, Alexis, Nathaniel, Natalie, Jeremiah, Elias, Ricky, Jeremy Jr., Tianaliz and Annalisa.  Her great-great grandchildren, Christopher, Amaya, and Hugo, together with additional relatives and friends who became part of the extended circle Aurora created throughout her long life.

Her life was long, full, hardworking, and deeply rooted in family. And while her physical presence will undoubtedly be missed, the woman lovingly remembered as the “cool grandma” has left her family an abundance of memories that time simply cannot erase.
