Blanca I. Rodriguez

Blanca I. Rodriguez was born on March 20, 1942, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. She entered eternal rest while surrounded by her family at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Blanca was the beloved daughter of the late Felix Roman Hernandez and the late Francisca Berrios. A devoted and nurturing mother, she is survived by her children, Iliana Rodriguez and Rey Rodriguez (Elvira). Her greatest joys were her grandchildren—Henry, Yesenia, Iris, and Elise—each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her dear brother, Jesus Roman.

Blanca was generosity in motion. She was known for her open heart and open kitchen—especially when it came to making pasteles which everyone looked forward to enjoying. No one ever left her home hungry, regardless of whether they had already eaten (according to Blanca, that detail was irrelevant). A talented cook, her food was comfort, tradition, and love served on a plate.

Creative and artistic by nature, Blanca found joy in crafts and handmade projects, always keeping her hands busy and her imagination alive. She also loved playing dominoes, where laughter, friendly competition, and family time naturally followed as they danced away when she heard a song igniting that spark within her.

Above all, Blanca cherished her family and found happiness in caring for others. Her warmth, generosity, and unmistakable presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06608.

Final disposition will be held privately.

Blanca’s legacy lives on in the meals shared, the hands she held, and the love she so freely gave.
