Carmelo Mojica Nieves, age 94, currently of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully in his home. Carmelo was born in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, on July 14, 1929. Most of his adult life he resided in Carolina, Puerto Rico but after hurricane Maria, he along with his beloved wife, relocated to be closer to the family in Bridgeport. A Family man known for his calm demeanor, he brought warmth and happiness to those around him even beyond the delicacies created with his hands. You see, Carmelo worked as a Baker in Puerto Rico throughout his life. He was committed and dedicated himself to his craft with skill and passion. His dedication to his work was evident to all who crossed paths with him.
