David Reyes, age 60, of Bridgeport, entered eternal rest on March 25, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 19, 1966, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the late Cecilio Reyes and the late Carmen J. Pagan.
David was a man of many talents—a true jack of all trades—but above all, he will be remembered for his remarkable skill as a handyman and his willingness to help anyone in need. He found joy in sharing his knowledge with others, especially his family, always encouraging them to stay on the right path, celebrate their achievements, and continue striving for greater things in life.
At the center of David’s life was his beloved companion of over 41 years, Herminia Morales. Together, they built a lifetime of cherished memories rooted in love, loyalty, and unwavering commitment.
David’s greatest pride and joy was his family. Whether it was spending time together at picnics, lending a helping hand, or simply being present, he valued family above all else. His generosity, guidance, and constant support left a lasting impact on those closest to him. He also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, creating moments that his loved ones will forever treasure. A true passion of his was his 1966 GTO, which he proudly owned and cared for over four decades—a reflection of his dedication and pride in the things he loved.
He is survived by his beloved Herminia Morales; his sons, Jonathan L. Reyes (Levonne Resto) and David Reyes Jr.; his two grandchildren who meant the world to him, Jonathan L. Reyes Jr. (Jon Jon) and Gianna Milan Reyes (Gigi).; his granddog Luna Reyes.; his siblings, Wilfredo Echevarria, Elisabeth Diaz, Carmen Reyes, Nixa Reyes and Rafael Reyes.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will dearly miss him.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Pedro Diaz and Cesar Reyes.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate David’s life on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz.
Final disposition will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
David will be remembered as a generous soul, a guiding presence, and above all, a family man. To him, nothing was more important than family—and that love will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know him.
