Diego Luis Cruz Jr., a beloved figure known for his joyful spirit and infectious humor, passed away on August 27, 2025, in his lifelong home of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on November 22, 1961, in the same city, Diego lived a life filled with laughter, love, and dedication to those around him.

Diego is a member of The Knights of Columbus and a multi skilled factory worker.  His work ethic and commitment to excellence were only rivaled by his zest for life. He had a remarkable ability to lighten any room with his jokes and undeniable charm, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his professional contributions, Diego's role as a devoted husband, father, and son defined him. He treasured each moment spent with his family, particularly his wife, Elizabeth Nieves-Cruz, with whom he shared over 40 beautiful years of companionship.

Diego was not just a family man; he was also a man of many passions. A talented cook, he delighted in preparing meals that brought people together around the dinner table. His graceful dance moves matched the rhythm of his joyful heart, often captivating family and friends at gatherings. As an avid sports enthusiast, he proudly supported the Dallas Cowboys, displaying his unwavering loyalty with excitement during every game. His love for cinema led to countless hours spent enjoying reruns of classic movies and tv shows, sharing memorable moments watching his favorites with loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Nieves-Cruz , his son, Jay Rodriguez, many uncles , aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Diego Luis Cruz Sr. and his mother, Elenor Uliano.  Together, they carry forward the memories of a man who not only touched their lives but also the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A viewing to celebrate Diego's life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, Connecticut. His family invites all who knew him to come and share in remembrance of a joyful spirit, a loving husband and father, and a friend whose vibrant personality will be deeply missed.
