Donna Marie Alves

Donna Marie Alves, age 66 passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2024. She was known for her joyful and energetic personality, a free spirit who brought light and happiness wherever she went. She had a heart of gold and would always know what to say to make you smile. 

Donna was born on September 4, 1957, in Bridgeport, CT to the late Natalie H. Mobilio and Edward Macura.  As a child she loved growing up in St. John's Church and was a member of the choir and an alter girl until her early teens. She had a love for anything "Betty Boop" and one of her favorite hobbies was shopping for her newest piece of jewelry.  Her unique sense of humor and carefree persona will resonate in the hearts and minds of her loved ones for years to come.  

Donna is survived by her loving family and friends, including her son Jose Alves (Toni), daughter Jennifer Ostravage (Emma), granddaughter Taylor Alves, sisters Natalie Teixeira (Charlie) and Elaine Trerotola, niece and nephew Gina (Epifano) Trerotola and Anthony Trerotola, and a host of other relatives & friends. She most enjoyed her visits with her great nieces and nephews, Mikey, Vinny, Jayden, Mason, Nayeli and especially Olivia. 

She was predeceased by her long-term partner, Edward Cizik. You could often find the two of them going to a NYC Broadway show or finding the next Motown concert. 

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Donna's life will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. 

The visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 PM at the same location. 

The burial will then proceed to Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery in Easton at approx. 1:45 PM, 1 Harvester Road, Easton, CT.

Donna's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her best. May she rest in peace.
