Edwin Rivera

Edwin Rivera, affectionately known as Bacalao, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on March 1, 2024, in Fairfield, CT. He was born in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, on September 10, 1942. Edwin was a life-long NY Yankees fan and enjoyed solitaire games and word search puzzles. His life will forever be cherished and remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his journey through life, Edwin touched the hearts of many with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will be cherished by his surviving family members: his devoted wife Adeline Hernandez-Rivera; his loving children Diana Franco (Angel), Linda Rivera, Edwin Rivera Jr. (Luz), Richard Rivera ( Carmen) and Marta Rivera; grandchildren Madison, Gavin, Leila, Edwin, Ramon, Cynthia, Nyasia, Jacob and Mason; great-grandchildren Novie, Sebastian and Orion as well as his dear brothers David and Jacob Rivera.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Marta Rivera as well as his brothers Moyses, Ramon Luis, Wilfredo, Otoniel and Carlos Rivera. While our hearts mourn the loss of such a remarkable soul, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on through those whose lives he has touched.

The visitation to honor and celebrate Edwin's life will be held on March 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT. The visitation will be a time for family and friends to come together to share stories of Edwin's impact and create lasting memories in his honor.

As we bid farewell to Edwin, let us carry forward the lessons he taught us through his actions: to love unconditionally, to cherish each moment with loved ones, and to always lend a helping hand to those in need. May his soul rest in eternal peace knowing that he was truly loved and will never be forgotten.

Rest easy now, dear Edwin. Your legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us all.
