Egberto Nieves

Egberto Nieves, a vibrant and joyful individual who brought happiness to everyone around him, has left behind a legacy of love and generosity. With a zest for life that was contagious, he will forever be remembered for his spirit, laugh, his love for dancing, and his devotion to helping others in need.

Born on April 24, 1958, in Bridgeport, CT, Egberto grew up surrounded by the love of his parents, Antonio Nieves and Juana Soto. From an early age, it was evident that Egberto had a kind heart and an unwavering passion for connecting with people. He found great joy in spreading laughter and bringing smiles to the faces of those he encountered.

Egberto's exuberant spirit extended to every aspect of his life. He could often be found making memories with friends at local bars and social gatherings. It was through these times that Egberto fostered deep friendships and created lasting bonds.

However, Egberto's true essence shined brightest through his selflessness and humble nature. He believed in the power of giving back to his family and lending a helping hand whenever possible.  Egberto brought compassion into the lives of countless individuals.

Tragically, on December 9, 2023, Bridgeport lost a beacon of light when Egberto passed away at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport. His departure leaves behind an immense void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though his physical presence may be gone, the memories he created and the impact he made will forever remain.

Egberto's warm spirit lives on through his surviving family members: Siblings, Luis Nieves, Angel Nieves, Alvin Nieves, Santa I. Nieves, Iris Lopez, Marisol Nieves, Luz Nieves, Billy Nieves, Norma Serrano, and Antonia Nieves. They will continue to carry his legacy and honor his memory by embodying the same love and kindness that Egberto demonstrated throughout his life.

To celebrate the remarkable life of Egberto Nieves, a visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608.

May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
