In Loving Memory of
Elard Chavez
August 11, 1946 – July 7, 2025
Elard Chavez, a devoted husband, proud father, beloved grandfather, and treasured great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut. Born on August 11, 1946, in Peru, he was the son of the late German Chavez and the late Constantina Zavala and late sister Mery Chávez Zavala.
More than 25 years ago, Elard made the bold journey to the United States, bringing with him an unshakable commitment to his family and a spirit of quiet strength. For over 55 years, he shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Victoria Chavez, who lovingly prepared the criolla Peruvian cuisine he adored.
Elard was the steadfast protector and provider of his family—a man of integrity and a genuinely kind heart who made it his mission to ensure his loved ones were always well. Deeply connected to his grandchildren, he found joy in their laughter and pride in their accomplishments. His love of music and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures made every moment with him memorable.
A pillar in the upbringing of his family back in Peru, Elard’s influence, wisdom, and devotion shaped generations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Chavez; his daughters, Liliana Vallejos, Rosario Chavez, Patricia Chavez, and Cristina Chavez; his siblings, Rolando Chavez Zavala, Adolfo Chavez Zavala, Hernan Chavez Zavala, Judith Chavez Zavala, Elena Chavez Zavala, and Edgar Chavez Zavala; six cherished grandchildren; and four beloved great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
