Elena Gutierrez

Elena Gutierrez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 12, 2023, in Bridgeport, CT at the age of 71. She was born on May 13, 1952, in Aibonito, PR. Elena was known for her humility and kindness, traits that touched the lives of everyone she encountered.

Elena's journey will be remembered and celebrated at several events. The visitation will take place on December 18, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Cathedral of Faith, 2319 Fairfield Avenue, in Bridgeport, CT. This will be an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects and share cherished memories of Elena. Elena's final resting place will be Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue in Bridgeport, CT. following the church service.

Elena's warm presence and loving nature were felt by everyone lucky enough to know her. She had a passion for cooking and took great joy in sharing her delicious meals with her family and friends. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart as she showered them with love and affection. Elena was selfless when it came to her family and would sacrifice anything for their happiness.

One of Elena's favorite pastimes was visiting Puerto Rico. She found solace in the beauty of her birthplace and cherished every opportunity to reconnect with her roots. In addition to traveling, Elena enjoyed window shopping and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a green thumb and found peace in tending to her garden.

Elena's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving family. She is survived by her husband, Tiburcio Cabrera. Her children, Ricardo (Yvette Allen) Cabrera, Vanessa Cabrera, and Eduardo (Jennifer) Cabrera, as well as her extended family and grandchildren Elena, Elissa, Eliana, Eduardito, Jaelyana, Julissa, Emmanuel,  Mariah, Devante and great granchildren Aria and Sophia, her siblings Carmen (Lligar), Rolon Felix Gutierrez, Leonilda Gutierrez, Basilio Gutierrez, Isabel Gutierrez Norberto Gutierrez Luz Neida Gutierrez Ismael Gutierrez Juan Gutierrez Ana Gutierrez Abraham (Tito) Gutierrez Angel Luis Gutierrez Raul Gutierrez, will always hold her spirit close to their hearts.

Elena was preceded in death by her father, Abraham Gutierrez, her mother, Maria Rivera Gutierrez, her brother Jose Gutierrez and her grandson Jose Alvarado. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and countless extended family members who were touched by her love and kindness.

The legacy of Elena Gutierrez lives on through her precious grandchildren and great granchildren: Elena, Elissa, Eduardo, Eliana, Jaelyana, Julissa, and Emanuel Cabrera, Mariah Allen, Devante Teel, Aria and Sophia Outhavong. Their lives were enriched by their loving grandmother's presence.

Elena's departure has left an undeniable void in the lives of all who knew her. However, the cherished memories she leaves behind bring comfort and solace to those who mourn her loss.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Elena's honor to a charity of your choice.

Elena Gutierrez will forever be remembered as a compassionate soul who lived a life filled with love and selflessness. Her memory will continue to inspire us all to embrace the little things that bring joy into our lives. May she rest in eternal peace.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at The Cathedral of Faith, 2319 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
