In Loving Memory of

Elethia F. Carrasco

Elethia F. Carrasco, lovingly known to family and friends as a woman of warmth, compassion, and unwavering devotion, passed peacefully at the age of 89. Born on April 29, 1937, in Panama, she later made her home in the United States, where she dedicated her life to caring for others and nurturing the many people blessed to know her.

Elethia was the beloved daughter of James E. Ellis and Jestina Raphael. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Salustiano Carrasco, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and commitment. Together they built a family rooted in kindness, resilience, and devotion.

A proud and hardworking woman, Elethia earned an Associate Degree and devoted her professional life to healthcare as a Certified Nurse's Aide. Her career reflected the very qualities that defined her life—patience, compassion, generosity, and a genuine concern for the well-being of others. Those under her care often became extended family, and her nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on countless lives.

Elethia was one of twelve children born to her parents. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings Jim, Allan, Walford, Roy, Esvin, Ernesto, Theresa, Eleonora, Leona, and Diana. She is survived by her cherished sister, Ernestina de Berguido, the last surviving sibling of their close-knit family.

Elethia was the loving mother of Edita, Walter, Modesto, Nelia, Yolanda, Marlena, Raquel, Migdalia, Alba, Wilfredo, Damaris, and Hilser, and was blessed with a family that continued to grow through the generations. She leaves behind 12 children, 31 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

She also leaves behind her cherished sons-in-law, Angelo Walker, Carey Mayer, Gary Zimbelman, and Robert Wasp, as well as her beloved daughters-in-law, Mauva Carrasco, Priscilla Carrasco, and Altacelia Carrasco. Through the years, they became not only members of her family but recipients of her love, wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering devotion.

She leaves behind 12 children, 31 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

She is also survived by many extended relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Those who knew Elethia will remember her as an exceptionally social woman who could brighten any room with her presence. She loved gathering with family, especially when it meant enjoying lively conversations, laughter, and a spirited game of cards. Her nurturing nature was evident in every aspect of her life. Whether caring for patients, supporting family members, or offering a kind word to a friend, she gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly.

Family was the center of Elethia's world. Her children recall a mother whose love knew no bounds and whose greatest happiness came from seeing her family together. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever carry with them the lessons of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love that she so effortlessly demonstrated.

Elethia was also a beloved member of the Groton-New London Church of Christ. Her church family will deeply miss her presence, friendship, and unwavering spirit. She served as an inspiration to those around her, and her faith-filled example touched the lives of countless individuals who were blessed to cross paths with her. Her kindness, encouragement, and genuine love for others reflected the values she held dear and will continue to be remembered by all who knew her.

Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, the legacy of love, compassion, strength, faith, and devotion that she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
