Eroilda Galarza, born on April 1, 1952, in the beautiful town of Lares, Puerto Rico, made her peaceful transition on July 10, 2025, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister whose legacy will forever reverberate through the hearts of those who knew her.
Eroilda will be remembered for her quiet and reserved nature, which only masked the immense love she had for her family. She shared a deep connection with the younger generation, always nurturing their dreams and ambitions with a gentle hand and a warm heart. Her children, Luis Medina and Johathan and David Villanueva (Edmarie), carry forward her spirit, as do her cherished grandchildren: Amaya, Amelis, Alexander, Alison, Edreil, and Camila. To them, she was more than a grandmother; she was a source of endless encouragement and an embodiment of unconditional love.
Eroilda had a penchant for gardening that was as vibrant as the blooms she tended to. Her hands, though often in the soil, brought forth not just beautiful plants but also culinary delights. Known as a great cook, she brought joy to family gatherings with her signature rice with steak and traditional delights like bacalaitos and sorrullos. Each meal was a testament to her warmth and love, nourishing both body and spirit.
Her passion for horror movies added a spark to her personality. Despite her quiet demeanor, she found joy and excitement in the thrill of a good scare, often sharing these moments with family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and occasional screams.
Eroilda is survived by her beloved siblings—Carlos, Olga, Luis, Sigfredo, David, Angel, Irma, Emily, and Francisco—who will surely miss the bond they shared. Each one of them holds a piece of her in their hearts, a reminder of a sister who was both gentle and strong.
As we honor Eroilda's life, we invite those who loved her to join us in celebrating her spirit. The services will begin with a viewing at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, followed by her burial at Lakeview Cemetery at 1:30 PM on the same day.
