Esperanza Santiago

December 18, 1938 — May 26, 2020

Esperanza Santiago, age 81, has passed away into the peaceful presence of the Lord on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT; Esperanza was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico but relocated to the United States many years ago. A woman who won your heart from her first hello, Esperanza was that one special soul who could. She was one of the most genuine people you could ever meet and whoever shared time with her, never left the same. Esperanza was a woman who loved the Lord and depended on him in everything in her life and that of her family; Everyone knew that her prayers were being elevated from her heart to the ears of God, for each one of her family and everyone or anyone else she met. In her heart there was nothing but love, everyone knew mom was a hugger. I say mom, because whoever met her, by the end of the visit, they called her mom............ she was everyone's mom. Her warm embrace was something everyone looked forward to. She was genuinely funny and every time she spent time with the family her humor and comedic personality shined through. her grandchildren looked forward to seeing grandma and were blessed to be able to say for years to come how much they shared, and so much they were able to do with her. She enjoyed window shopping and looking at the latest and greatest at the stores. her days were filled with hours of Christian music where she would do so much as she could in the house but with the atmosphere she enjoyed so much filled with the word of God and her solid connection to His love and mercies. Being the Matriarch of the family she was and a title she so well deserved because she was the was the pillar that sustained many of the family by her prayers and sharing insight she gained throughout the years as a Mother, wife and above all a Woman of God. Woman of God being another title that she held in high esteem and would always encourage others to seek God and his Kingdom and everything else was going to be alright. She always had an ear for whoever needed to share something they may be going through, regardless of the hour, or situation, she always had something she could share which allowed them to have a better outlook and idea as to how to handle things, understanding that it all had a purpose and mission and ultimately God would never leave you or abandon you. Mom enjoyed cooking knowing that the family would be together and looking forward to spending those times together, laughing, and creating the memories today we will cherish and are the same memories that still bring a smile, and will for years to come. in the family we always knew we could call her or go to her house because her doors were always open or she would be there to listen because her heart was always ready to give, to provide, to contribute, to help because that is who she was. A gem with a priceless value, one that could never be replaced, and truthfully irreplaceable. Although we know through your testimony and your entire life that God one day would take you home, we have to admit our hearts are heavy burdened knowing that your not a phone call away anymore to call you, the blessings you gave us through your entire life has equipped us to be close to He who will bring us back togther again! Then, no more tears, no more goodbyes because eternity will never separate us again! until day day, rest in Peace Mom, but listen up because soon that trumpet will sound and when you hear it, we will meet you in the clouds up above! Esperanza is the daughter of the late Manuel Cosme and late Julia Rosa prior to relocating to the Connecticut area many years ago.
