Eva Acevedo (Eva Luz Valentín Cuevas) is resting in peace as of November 22, 2025. She was born in Barrio LaTorre de Lares on September 3, 1931 to Ramón Valentín Morales and Gregoria Cuevas Segarra.

Eva was known for being an active and distinguished member of the Emanuel Baptist Church of Bridgeport, where she always testified of her unwavering fidelity to God and her church. She stood out as a pillar of faith, humility, happy spirit and a contagious spiritual joy. Several days before her death, her perseverance in the Christian faith was evident when she told her great-granddaughter, Emily, "Jesus loves you and so do I."

Eva's life would not have been complete without her children through marriage: Angel Acevedo, Norma Acevedo, Gloria Huckaby, Marilyn Benítez, Dialene Pabellon, Jose Acevedo (deceased), Daniel Acevedo and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves numerous family members whom she loved dearly.

Eva worked at Key Industries and retired many years ago to dedicate herself to her favorite profession as a housewife. Eva's life was marked by her faith in Jesus Christ, raising her children to love and serve her Savior by leading the daily devotions of the family. She loved reading the Bible, Christian books and books about health. In each room, she had something to read and a notebook to keep notes. She was also physically active, gardening, cooking and taking walks around her neighborhood.

In addition to church activities, she enjoyed interacting with members of the East Side Senior Center participating in crafts, sewing, exercises, field trips, learning about nutrition, and prevention of dementia and Alzheimer's,
