Gabriel DeJesus Reyes

Gabriel DeJesus Reyes, beloved son, brother, father and grandfather, passed away on December 3, 2023. He was born on June 13, 1960, in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. Gabriel's passing has left a deep void in the lives of his family and friends, but his memory will forever be cherished.

Gabriel had an admirable work ethic and dedicated his life to being a mechanic and construction worker. His hands were touched with the skill and finesse required for these professions and he took great pride in his craft. Gabriel was a jack of all trades and possessed an innate ability to fix just about anything. Friends and family would turn to him whenever they needed assistance or advice, knowing that he could always lend a helping hand. He was the most caring and loving father a son and daughter could ever ask for. Definitely the best dad in the world.

A very quiet individual by nature, Gabriel's laughter was like music to those who knew him best. He had a fantastic sense of humor and loved cracking jokes that would brighten up any room. Despite his jovial nature, Gabriel was also known for being very introspective and enjoyed spending time in his own company. He found solace within himself and valued the quiet moments of reflection.

Family was at the center of Gabriel's world. He was a dedicated father to his son Michael G. DeJesus and daughter Michelle D. DeJesus (David Cruz). His love extended beyond his children as he embraced the role of grandfather to five grandchildren: Michael G. DeJesus Jr., Yadiel G. DeJesus, Michelle D. DeJesus, Kailey Castro, and Leah Castro.

In addition to his immediate family members, Gabriel is survived by his loving siblings: Angeles DeJesus, Carmen M. DeJesus, Evelyn DeJesus, Jose Luis DeJesus, Melvin DeJesus, Betzaida DeJesus, Santa Teresa DeJesus, Juan DeJesus, Angel Diaz, Angel DeJesus (the brother), Nayi I. DeJesus, Maria DeJesus, and his brother Roberto DeJesus. He shared a special bond with each of them and their support and love were sources of great comfort in his life.

Gabriel's kindheartedness and willingness to lend a helping hand will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his skills, laughter, and unconditional love.

A viewing to honor Gabriel's life will be held on December 8, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT, 06608. It is an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and share cherished memories of Gabriel.
