Herminia Rodriguez, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, in her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 15, 1930, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Rafael Colón and the late Gregoria Colón.
Herminia was a woman with a green thumb and a spirit that bloomed just as beautifully as the plants she tended. She loved gardening, exploring flea markets, shopping for little treasures, and cooking unforgettable Puerto Rican dishes—always adding her own special touch. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, culture, and flavor that lives on through those she loved.
She is survived by her son, Eliecer Rodriguez; her granddaughter, Angela Santella; her great-granddaughters, Penelope and Sadie; and her birds Quiero, Lola and Pablo. Her family will forever cherish her warmth, humor, and the traditions she carried so proudly.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT, beginning at 10:00 AM. A service in celebration of her life will take place at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
Herminia leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, strength and the unmistakable flavor of home. She will be dearly missed.
