With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Hiram Sanchez Jr., who left us on June 28, 2026, in his hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born there on October 18, 1968, Hiram’s life journey began and ended amidst the same familiar streets and cherished community that shaped his remarkable story.
Hiram fought a courageous battle with dignity, showing the same quiet strength that had defined his entire life. His determination in the face of hardship became a testament to all who knew him, a legacy of perseverance and bravery that will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends.
He was the beloved son of Evelyn Ortiz Rodriguez and the late Hiram Sanchez Sr., and the devoted father of Michael Sanchez, Kendra Sanchez, and Hiram III and Sasha M. Sanchez. Hiram’s love for his children was boundless – their successes and joys his greatest triumphs, their sorrows his deepest cares. He leaves behind a circle of family that radiates with his warmth: sisters Ivette Cabrera, Dinora Sanchez, and Eliana Sanchez; brothers Luis Miranda, Elias Sanchez, and Eliazar Sanchez; his cousin Janet Martinez; and his supportive supervisor Joanna. Each of them carries a unique and personal memory of Hiram, woven together into the tapestry of a closely knit family that will miss him dearly.
Bridgeport will remember Hiram for his affable nature, his ready smile, and his deep loyalty to those he loved. He kept his roots strong, cherishing bonds with family and friends and always offering a helping hand or a kind word. He was an avid and loyal fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, never missing an opportunity to don his teams’ colors or gather loved ones around for a spirited game. For Hiram, sports were more than a pastime—each home run and touchdown celebrated with friends or family was another moment of togetherness, another thread in the rich fabric of his life.
Although his journey has now ended, his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. Hiram’s courage, compassion, and steadfast devotion to his loved ones shine on in all who shared in his life. Through their stories, laughter, and tears, the spirit of Hiram Sanchez Jr. will continue to grace the world he so loved.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hiram Sanchez Sr., whose influence and love paved many of the paths Hiram would walk.
The comfort of Hiram’s memory will live on in every member of the family he cherished and in every friend whose life he touched. While words cannot fill the void left behind, they can bear witness to a life lived with genuine warmth and unwavering love, and to the gentle dignity with which he faced his final days.
Hiram will be laid to rest on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in the town of Salinas.
