Iris Figueroa

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Iris Figueroa, a pillar of strength and love to her family and friends. Iris departed from this world on April 5, 2024, at her residence in Bridgeport CT, surrounded by the warmth of her loved ones. Iris Figueroa Born on July 19, 1951, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Iris's journey through life was marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear.

Iris was the cherished daughter of the late Rosalina Figueroa and the late Juan A. Figueroa, whose spirit undoubtedly guided her throughout her life's adventures. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever be treasured by her children: Carlos Gonzalez, Gladys Jordan (husband Derrick), Carmen Serrano (wife Zoraida), Luz George (husband Bryan), Maria Gonzalez, Iris Gonzalez, Marisol Ali (husband Mike), Jesus Gonzalez, and Juan Gonzalez. Each of her children carries within them the indelible imprint of her love and wisdom, a testament to the extraordinary mother she was.

In addition to her immediate family, Iris is survived by her siblings Angel, Jenny, Konki, and Rola, who shared in both her joys and sorrows, weaving a tapestry of memories that will endure for generations to come. Her bond with her siblings was unbreakable, a source of strength and solidarity throughout the years.

Iris's circle of love extended beyond her family, encompassing her dear friend, Doña Juana, whose companionship brought her immeasurable joy and laughter. Together, they shared the journey of life, navigating its twists and turns with unwavering friendship and support.

But perhaps Iris's greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother to 27 grandchildren, each one a precious gem in the tapestry of her life. As well as going to the Casino and playing Bingo with her family and friends. She delighted in their laughter, celebrated their milestones, and imparted upon them the values of kindness, compassion, and resilience. Her love for them knew no bounds, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of these future generations.

Friends and acquaintances alike were touched by Iris's warmth, her infectious smile, and her boundless generosity of spirit. Her home was a sanctuary of love and hospitality, where all were welcomed with open arms and treated as cherished guests. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her memory will forever be a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation in honor of Iris Figueroa will be held on April 11, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT. It will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together, to share stories, to shed tears, and to celebrate a life well-lived.

As we bid farewell to Iris, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she may no longer walk among us, her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to illuminate our lives, guiding us through the darkest of days and inspiring us to be the best versions of ourselves. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved beyond measure and that her memory will forever be cherished.
