Jose C. Espinal, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on November 6, 2023, at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. He was 91 years old.

Born on February 2, 1932, in the Dominican Republic, Jose had a warm and welcoming personality. He had a remarkable ability to make others feel at ease and had a great sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. Jose’s kind and compassionate nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jose had a diverse range of interests that kept him engaged throughout his life.   He proudly served as captain of the local fire department in Santo Domingo. He loved riding bikes and spending time at the beach. He found solace in reading nutritional books and indulged in his passion for movies. Moreover, he possessed an innate talent for fixing TVs and radios—an impressive skill that brought joy to many.

Throughout his life, family held a special place in Jose's heart. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Ana R. Espinal and together they shared the joys and challenges of life for many years. Their love served as an inspiration for their two children: Manuel Espinal and Alejandra Rose.

Manuel Espinal was fortunate enough to find Mariana Peguero as his loving partner in life—a daughter-in-law who brought immense happiness to Jose's world. Likewise, Alejandra Rose found her soulmate in Girvan Rose—a son-in-law who cherished Jose like his own father.

Henry Reyes was another source of pride for Jose—a son whose kindness and warmth mirrored the values he held dear. Iris Espinal Reyes became not only a daughter-in-law but also a dear friend to Jose—an unwavering pillar of support throughout the years.

Joseph Espinal Maryam brought immeasurable joy into Jose's life with his loving nature. His wife Khatib Espinal completed their family circle with her unwavering love and support. Edwin Espinal, another son whom Jose held dear, enriched his life with his presence.

Jose was blessed with an extensive family tree that spanned over generations. He celebrated the joy of being a grandfather to 20 grandchildren who brought him endless laughter and happiness. Additionally, he had the pleasure of doting on 11 great-grandchildren, whose innocent smiles brightened his days.

Jose will forever be remembered for the love and light he brought into the lives of those around him. His gentle presence and infectious laughter created lasting memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
