It is with a mix of sadness and joy for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Jose Miguel Marrero, who departed this world on June 29, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on January 7, 1966, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Jose was a cherished son, brother, and friend, known for his warm heart and vibrant spirit.
Jose is survived by his beloved mother, Luz Vazquez, and his devoted siblings: Angel, Luz, Rosa, Jesusa, Jorge, Maribel, Nelson and Nancy. His close family ties reflected the love and support he shared with those around him, and his memory will forever remain in their hearts. Angel shared a special bond with his father, Angel Marrero whom preceded him in death.
While Jose faced challenges throughout his life, he approached each day with resilience and a smile that brightened the lives of others. He was a geography buff who appreciated the beauty in maps. He cherished his time in Puerto Rico. Jose was a fan of Elvis Presley and Julio Iglesias. He relished in the spirit of the Christmas holiday. Perhaps that is why he never lost his innocence. He was a firm believe of "always never forget". His journey reminded us all of the preciousness of our time together and the beauty found in moments shared with loved ones.
In honor of Jose's life, a celebration of his spirit will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Friends and family are invited to join together for a service filled with laughter, storytelling, and remembrance, as we pay tribute to the man who brought so much joy to our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jose's name to a local charity supporting those with disabilities, reflecting his courageous journey through life.
As we commemorate Jose Miguel Marrero, let us hold tightly to the memories we cherish and celebrate the legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind.
