Julio Angel Martinez

Julio Angel Martinez, age 54 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the beloved companion of Vilma J. Rivera. Julio was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico; raised in the Virgin Islands; son of the late Roman Martinez and Florita Ortiz Llarraza prior to relocating to Connecticut. He made a true name for himself in Bridgeport based on a reputation of friendliness, compassion and his willingness to lend a helping hand. Julio was a father figure to many people and was an example of a good man and hard worker. He is the loving father of Julio Angel Martinez, Jr., Jesus Angel Martinez, and Kassandra Rivera; the caring grandfather of Serenity Watkins, Cayden Martinez, Everly Martinez and Kaylani Martinez; and the brother of 9 sisters and 8 brothers. He is also survived by many other family members and friends that will truly miss him. Family and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue Bridgeport, Conn. 06608. A Funeral Service is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Funeral Home. His interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, Ct.
