Katherine Burgos Gonzalez

Katherine Burgos Gonzalez, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2025, in Stafford Springs, CT. Born on October 9, 1980, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, Katherine embodied joy and love in all aspects of her life. She is survived by her cherished son, Calvin Gonzalez, who is married to Karina, and her adored grandchildren, Kayden and Kiaraliz Gonzalez. Katherine's devotion to her family was unparalleled; they were the central focus of her world, and she loved nothing more than doting on her grandchild Kayden, and engaging in fun activities that brought him joy.

Katherine's vibrant personality was marked by an outgoing spirit, a spicy sense of humor, and a spontaneous nature that drew people towards her. Her loving and helpful demeanor made her a bright light for everyone around her, and her laughter could fill any room. She was a true fashionista who always looked her best, often expressing her creativity through her style. An avid listener of music, Katherine found joy in melodies that resonated with her heart. She was a God-fearing woman who embraced peaceful moments where she sought solace in meditation, reflecting on her spiritual journey as she read scripture.

Nature held a special place in Katherine's heart, particularly the ocean, which brought her peace and inspiration. She found contentment in trail walks, where she could immerse herself in the beauty of the outdoors. Vacation adventures were not just getaways; they were opportunities for her to create lasting memories with her loved ones.

Katherine was also proud of her accomplishments, with her role as a mother to Calvin and a grandmother to Kayden and Kiaraliz being paramount in her life. She nurtured her relationships with great care and ensured that her family knew how deeply they were loved.

Katherine leaves behind her mother, Maria Alvarado, and her siblings: Jennifer, Michelle, Jessica, Edgar, and Gisel. She also leaves behind her good friend Mark Elias. She will be profoundly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A viewing will be held at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the viewings, Katherine will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd, Trumbull, CT, during a burial service starting at 1:30 PM.
