Leonel Diaz

Lionel Diaz, born on August 23, 1964 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2026. He was the beloved son of Gloria and Monserrate Diaz. He was the devoted brother of Gabriel, Minerva, Ruben, Agustina, Wilson, Migdalia, Madeline and Sonia.

Leonel was a loving father to his daughter, Christina Diaz, and a proud grandfather to Ely Jr., Angel Jr. and Noah, who brought him immense joy and purpose. Family meant everything to Leonel and his strength, loyalty and love were evident in every interaction with his family.

Leonel shared a special close and loving bond with his nephews and nieces. He truly cherished spending time with them - whether attending Knicks, Giants and NY Yankees games, enjoying family picnics or family gatherings. His nephews and nieces: Ruben Jr, Carlos, Ricardo, Anthony, Amanda, Christopher, Felix, Steven, Eathon Jr, Matthew, Kasey, and Daniel held a special place in his heart. Those moments spent together will be forever treasured. Leonel will also be greatly missed by his great nieces and great nephews.

A hardworking and determined man, Leonel was self-employed and successfully built his own business. His work ethic, perseverance and resilience defined him. He took great pride in providing for his loved ones. He was incredibly strong in spirit and character. He was admired by many and deeply loved by all who knew him.

Leonel's legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched with his strength, kindness and unwavering dedication. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

All are invited to a celebration of a life well lived in honor of Leonel Diaz on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
