Luis Raul Gabriel

Luis Raul Gabriel, Age 62, of Bridgeport, entered into the peaceful presence of God on September 24, 2025, in his home. Born to Raul Gabriel and the late Aida Gabriel, Luis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

At a young age, he married his beloved wife, Diana Gabriel, with whom he shared a lifetime of love. Together, they raised their children: Melissa Gabriel, Angel Luis (Angela) Gabriel, and Isaiah Luis Gabriel, Tisha Rios, and Ricky Gabriel. He was predeceased by his son, the late Luis Michael Gabriel.

Luis will be deeply missed by his siblings: Irma Gabriel Oneill, Angelo Gabriel, Mary Gabriel-Perez (Richard), Ilissa Gabriel-Torres (Jaime). His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Jadah, Kaiden, Hezikiyah, Kamryn, Grayson, and Corrah and a host of nieces nephews, relatives and friends, all who will sorely miss him.

Known throughout Bridgeport’s East Side as “Big Lou,” he carried a selfless heart and was always ready to help anyone in need with his many handyman skills. He was previously employed at the O&G Company where many came to appreciate him and his work ethic. He enjoyed the simple joys of life: riding his beloved Schwinn bike, walking with his dog, and keeping his style sharp—especially his sneakers, which he wore with pride.

Luis' warmth, generosity, and presence touched countless lives, and his memory will forever bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

Services:  

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, followed by prayers in the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. with approximate time of arrival 1:45 PM.
