Luzaida Ramos, a beloved figure in the city of Bridgeport, passed away on January 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and joy. Born on October 30, 1958, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, Luzaida dedicated her life to caring for others, most notably serving as a compassionate crossing guard for her community. Her work was not just a job; it was a calling, reflecting her fun-spirited and social personality that endeared her to everyone she met.

Luzaida's love for her family and friends knew no bounds. She leaves behind her cherished son, Albert S. Abrams, who was the light of her life. Luzaida was an enthusiastic participant in family life and cherished connections with each of her siblings: Norberto, Luis, Nilsa, Hiram, Daisy, Lucy, Elsie, Ruben, and Ivan. The laughter and joy shared amongst them are countless, woven into the fabric of their lives by her love and dedication.

Luzaida was not only a caring mother and sister but also a talented cook, whose culinary creations were as vibrant as her spirit. Her passion for music filled her home, often dancing around, laughter echoing wherever she went. We can always picture her, phone in hand, endlessly chatting with friends and family, spreading her infectious joy.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Norberto Ramos and Florencia Rodriguez, who surely welcomed her with open arms, feeling the warmth of her spirit once more.

In honoring her memory, family and friends are invited to celebrate Luzaida's life and legacy. A viewing will be held on January 9, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Following this, her burial will take place on the same day at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford, CT, starting at 1:30 P.M.
