Manuel "Papo" Lopez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuel "Papo" Lopez, who left this world on October 13, 2025, while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Born on August 12, 1961, in New Jersey, Papo was a man of remarkable character, known for his big heart and sociable nature. He dedicated many years of his life as a machinist in the manufacturing industry, earning the respect and admiration of many within his community.

Papo’s life was rich with memories, especially cherished moments enjoyed at the beach every Sunday alongside his beloved grandson. The beach resonated with his laughter and joy; it was there that he found the greatest solace, sitting under the shade with a cooler full of Coors Light and sharing precious time with those he loved most. He was not just a talented mechanic who took pride in working on cars, but also a devoted family man who embraced the role of father and mentor to his children and stepchildren, raising them as his own.

In his journey through life, Papo formed deep connections with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Lopez, and his son, Manuel Lopez Jr. Alongside them are his step-children Nicole and Evers, who he loved dearly. Additionally two grandchildren and great-grandchild. Papo's bond with these individuals was profound; he nurtured their dreams and stood by them with unwavering support.

He leaves behind a loving collection of siblings: Maria Antonia, Ana, Carmen, Maria, Luz, George, Daniel, Edwin and Luis. These siblings shared laughter, stories, and many unforgettable moments with him, each holding a unique piece of his vibrant tapestry.

Papo was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Lopez, and mother, Antonia Ortiz, whose memories are forever cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Despite their passing, their legacy lives on through him.

Papo's viewing will be held at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, welcoming all who knew and loved him.
