Maria Motta

Maria Motta, 103, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on September 19, 2022, at Southport Healthcare Center, Southport, CT.  She was born in La Vega, Santo Domingo to the late Pablo Holguin and Teolinda Holguin.  She was the beloved widow of the late Casimiro Motta.

Maria was a dedicated teacher who cultivated the minds of many.  She was a devout Catholic who was actively involved in all aspects of the church.  She cherished the moments that she spent with her family.

Maria leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Domingo, Carmen and Jesus; the grandchildren that she raised as her own Ana, Peter, Silky, Michael, Carl, Clara and Bucky;  21 precious grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family that will miss her dearly.  Additionally she is predeceased by her children Ana, Pedro and Clarissa.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 359 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
