Maria Luisa Rivera Matucza, a beloved member of the community, passed away on March 16, 2024, in Trumbull, CT. Maria was born on December 30, 1930 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to her loving parents Lorenzo Ribera and Luisa Rodriguez.
Maria being very outgoing and social had many friends who cherished her vibrant personality. She was known for her hard work ethic, always going above and beyond in everything she did. Family was at the center of Maria's world, and she treasured the time spent with her loved ones.
In her free time, Maria found joy in simple pleasures - she loved taking long walks, listening to music, sipping on wine and an occasional white russian, showing off her dance moves while cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
Maria is survived by her sister Haydee Gonzalez, Toni, Amparo, Gladys, brothers Lorenzo, Miguel, nephews Alex, Jay, David her Godson, Rueben, nieces Sandy and Nikki, son Paul D. Abreu, daughter Iris Violet Abreu-Parziale, grandsons Ramon and Jose, great-grandchildren Denicene, Krystalee, Leila, Jason, and great-great-granddaughters Carmen and Annalyse.
A Memorial Service to honor Maria's life will be held on Saturday, April 6th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT. Maria will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing she is loved by many.
Maria dedicated many years of her life as a CNA at 3030 Park Nursing Home and The Jewish Home Senior Services where her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many. Her commitment to caring for others was unparalleled and she left a lasting impact on all those she cared for.
