Maria Santiago

Maria Santiago, 90, born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, entered eternal rest Saturday May 8, 2021, at her home in Stratford,Connecticut, surrounded by her family and lifelong friends. Maria was a retiree of Remington, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she was employed for more than 30 years, and where she made many friends she called her Remington family. Maria was known for her good food, for her jokes and sense of humor, for being the life of party, and for always being the one person you could depend on. Maria was the mother of 5 children, 2 of whom she is predeceased, Amadeo and Lourdes (Gugi), and 3 who she is survived by, Maria Mercedes, Luz (Lucy) Pires, and Michael. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, who she loved and adored, and all of which were her pride and joy and gave her life meaning. Calling hours will take place on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Burial will follow immediately at Riverside Cemetery, 469 Howe Avenue, Shelton, CT. Proper mask usage and social distancing are enforced inside the funeral home.
