Marilyn Tirado Torres
With profound sadness, yet with hearts full of gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Marilyn Tirado Torres, who entered into eternal rest on July 16, 2026, in New Haven, Connecticut, at the age of 61.
Born on January 24, 1965, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Marilyn was the beloved daughter of the late Juan Tirado and the late Dolores Torres. After Christ, Marilyn's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother whose heart belonged to her children, her daugher Leyland Morales and son Jomar Morales. They were the center of her world, and every decision she made reflected the deep and unconditional love she had for them. Marilyn is also lovingly survived by her siblings: Nydia E. Tirado, Juan Tirado, Edwin Tirado, Judy Castillo, Edna Silva, and Felix Berrios, Jr., she is also survived by her godson Micah Silva who was the apple of her eye, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness.
To know Marilyn was to experience genuine warmth. Her generosity knew no bounds, her vibrant spirit was contagious, and her joyful laughter had a remarkable way of brightening every room she entered. She possessed a beautiful gift for making others feel welcomed, valued, and loved, leaving lasting impressions wherever life took her. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Marilyn faithfully served at Christian Revival Church, where she was actively involved as missions department secretary, Women ministry secretary assistant and as a volunteer in the food pantry. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand, always offering her time, talents, and compassionate heart in service to both her church family and her community. Her willingness to serve reflected the love she carried within her and the faith that guided her throughout her life. Outside of church and family, Marilyn found great joy in sports. She was a devoted New York Mets fan and loved to play dominos with family and friends.
While her earthly presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the countless lives she touched will remain her lasting legacy. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing / visitation on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut, from 5-8 PM and a memorial service from 6:30-7:30 PM, where relatives and friends may pay their respects during the visitation.
Following the services in Connecticut, Marilyn will make her final journey home to Humacao, Puerto Rico, where she will be laid to rest in the Humacao Municipal Cemetery, beside generations of beloved family members who preceded her in death.

Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her life was one of faith, service, laughter, and immeasurable love an a legacy that will continue to shine brightly in all who were blessed to call her family and friend.
