Miguel A. Cruz, conocido cariñosamente como Rafael, falleció el 21 de febrero de 2026 en Stratford, Connecticut. Nació el 5 de junio de 1940 en Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. A lo largo de su vida, Rafael fue ejemplo de determinación y trabajo arduo. Dedicó muchos años al servicio de la comunidad como propietario de Mercedes Convenience Store en Stratford Ave en Bridgeport, donde trabajó incansablemente desde el amanecer hasta el atardecer, los siete días de la semana.

Rafael fue un abuelo orgulloso de Jonathan, Joshua, David, Michael, Steven, Miguel y Krystle así como de sus hermosos bisnietos, Brianna, Michael, Julien, Jayleen, Jace, Jayden y Angelica.

Los servicios de velación se llevarán a cabo el 3 de marzo de 2026, desde las 8:45 a.m. hasta las 11:45 a.m., en Funeraria Luz De Paz, ubicada en 426 E. Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT. Posteriormente, se celebrará una misa en St. Peter Parish, 695 Colorado Ave, Bridgeport, CT, comenzando a las 12:00 p.m. y concluyendo a la 1:00 p.m. A continuación, el servicio de sepultura se realizará en Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Ave, Bridgeport, CT, a partir de la 1:15 p.m.

Miguel A. Cruz, affectionately known as Rafael, passed away on February 21, 2026, in Stratford, CT. Born in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico on June 5, 1940, Rafael exemplified determination and hard work throughout his life. He dedicated many years to serving the community as the owner of Mercedes Convenience Store on Stratford Ave in Bridgeport. He worked there tirelessly from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week.

Rafael was not only a valued entrepreneur but also a man of introspection, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and dedication. He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic and steadfast nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Luisa Cruz, and their children Arelis Rosa-Giudice (James Giudice), Mercedes Anderson, and Carlos "Tito" Cruz and his dear niece Madelin Santos. Rafael was a proud grandfather to Jonathan, Joshua, David, Michael, Steven, Miguel and Krystle as well as his beautiful great-grandchildren, Brianna, Michael, Julien, Jayleen, Jace, Jayden and Angelica.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Cruz Garcia, and his parents, Carlos Cruz and Epifania Ramos

Viewing services will be held on March 3, 2026, from 8:45 AM until 11:45 AM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT. Following the viewing, a Mass will take place at St. Peter Parish, 695 Colorado Ave, Bridgeport, CT, starting at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:00 PM. The burial service will then follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Ave, Bridgeport, CT, beginning at 1:15 PM.

Miguel A. Rafael Cruz will be remembered as a devoted family man and an esteemed member of the businessman in the Bridgeport community. His spirit and contributions will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he touched.
