Miguel Bonilla

age 86, Born February 25, 1939, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, Miguel Bonilla passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in his home, in Bridgeport, surrounded by the love of his family.

A man of warm spirit and deep affection, Miguel was the beloved husband of Angelina Perez. Together, they raised a family rooted in love and unity, as proud parents to Robert Baerga, Luz M. Baerga, Jose A. Baerga, Jesus Baerga, and David Baerga.

His legacy lives on through his grandchildren—Lydia, Robert, Trisha, Steven, Matthew, Christina, David, Carlos, and Veronica; great-grandchildren—Angelina, Lazarae, Joshua, Gabriella, Anthony, Rocco, Katelyn, Lilliana, and Emma; and great-great-grandchild, Amana. He also leaves behind many other relatives and dear friends who were touched by his warmth and laughter.

Miguel was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening with care, singing with heart, dancing with joy, and sharing a good drink in the company of loved ones. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by family. Having moved to the mainland United States at just two years old, he built a life full of meaning and love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo Bonilla and Felicita Garcia, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

Family and friends will gather to honor Miguel’s life on Friday, May 16, 2025.  A viewing will begin at 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery Association, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
