Monserrate Vega

October 28, 1928 – May 26, 2026

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Monserrate Vega, who entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2026, at the age of 97. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on October 28, 1928, Monserrate was a woman whose life reflected humility, faith, kindness, and love for others. A devoted homemaker throughout her life, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for her family and home, always placing the needs of others before her own. Monserrate was a woman deeply rooted in her faith and was lovingly remembered by those around her for her constant prayers, her love of singing, and the joy she found in sharing God’s love with everyone she met. Even while facing the challenges of declining eyesight later in life, she continued to inspire those around her with her strength, warmth, and unwavering spirit. Her gentle presence and caring heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved son, Joaquin Vargas of Bridgeport, Connecticut; her six cherished grandchildren; eight treasured great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.She was predeceased by her daughter, Mildred Gonzalez. 

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visiting hours on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut.Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the love, faith, and compassion Monserrate shared so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
