Natividad Nieves

Natividad Nieves, a compassionate and nurturing Licensed Practical Nurse, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 96 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on December 24, 1929, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Natividad led a life dedicated to caring for others, both professionally and personally.

She graduated from nursing school, where she honed her skills and passion for helping those in need. Natividad's career as a nurse was marked by her unwavering commitment and the profound compassion she showed to her patients, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Natividad cherished her time spent with family, particularly with her beloved son, Edwin Maldonado, and her many grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride for her.

Natividad was preceded in death by her son, Rafael Maldonado, and her daughter, Ana Delia Maldonado.  She was also preceded by her parents Emilia Gomez and Leoncio Nieves, who provided her with the love and values that guided her throughout her life.

In addition to her dedication to nursing and her family, Natividad loved to dance, a joyous expression that reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Her memory will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be deeply missed.

The viewing for Natividad Nieves will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate her life and achievements.
