Nayda Luisa Torres

December 10, 1949 — February 10, 2021

Nayda Luisa Torres, age 71, of Bridgeport has passed away into eternal rest on February 10, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, Connecticut; Nayda was born in the beautiful town of Naranjito, Puerto Rico to the Late Luis Rodriguez and the late Maria Rodriguez; She relocated with her family at the early age of 6 and has resided here since. Her family knew her graciously as "Flaca", a nickname given to her by her dad when she was a little girl. She was the beloved widow of the late Luis Torres; Her family was the light of her eyes, and nothing was more rewarding than spending time with all of them, children, grandchildren, siblings, and all. She had a beautiful heart and one she shared with everyone she came into contact with. Her generous heart was admired by her family as being one of the most giving persons they knew. She could of been the poster child when describing an infamous saying of "Give you the shirt off her back" or "give away her last dollar" if she knew you needed it. Her desire to help others never ceased and brought so much satisfaction to know she was able to lend a hand to someone else regardless of who they were or how she found herself. She loved to sing and dance every chance she could; every year she would call/or leave a message on her children's birthday singing them a very customary Puerto Rican lullaby "Las Mañanitas". Her other favorite pastime was gardening and she would be so proud at the Tomatoes she was able to grow year after year. She truly was a genuine soul with nothing but goodness for everyone around and there are very few in this world left with a heart like Nayda's. It is then we can all agree it is many times we say "the good ones, leave so soon", but those " Good ones" are blessed to find that peaceful rest they need because God will always guide them to what they need best. He is faithful and true and today her faith on earth is now her reality basking in the presence of the almighty! May she rest in Peace and we will all meet again. Nayda is Survived by her children Nanette Torres and her spouse Edward Garcia and her son Luis F. Torres and his spouse Theresa Torres; Her grandchildren Luis Torres, Nicholas Garcia, Laila Torres, Alexandra Garcia, and Noah Torres; Her sisters Nelly Torres and Wanda Rosado; and a host of other relatives and friends whom will miss that gentle heart! In addition to her parents and her late husband Nayda was also preceded in death by her sister the late Ivonne Barbiere; Final services were held privately at the convenience of the family. Everyone is encouraged to share your memories, thoughts, prayers, pictures and so much more on her memorial webpage found at www.luzdepaz.com;
