Neida Maldonado

Neida Maldonado, a lifelong Bridgeport resident, passed away on February 2, 2024, in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT leaving behind cherished memories. She was born on February 15, 1968, to her loving parents the late Esteban Rivera and the late Rosa M. Maldonado. Neida's passion for life was evident in all aspects of her being. She had an infectious joy that could brighten anyone's day. Her sense of humor would lighten up any room, sharing laughter with those around her. Neida found solace in nature. Sitting at Seaside Park watching the waves crash upon the shore, she felt a deep sense of serenity and peace. She sought out beautiful waterfalls and explored new locations that showcased the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. Traveling also held a special place in her heart as she sought new adventures near and far.

Neida's memory will forever be treasured by those who survived her. She is survived by her devoted husband Hector D. Velez, who stood beside her through thick and thin. Neida is also survived by her sons David (Tommy Rodriguez) Martinez and son Jonathan Valle Maldonado. her stepdaughter, Kelsea C. Velez. Her siblings Yvette Perez, Brenda Maldonado, Esteban Maldonado, and Ruben Maldonado will forever hold her dear in their hearts. Her Nieces and Nephews, Linnette Perez, Jeannette Perez, Anthony Morales, Yasmin Rivera, Luis Perez, and Carlos Perez, and her great nieces and nephews who will forever miss her.   Neida's presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, kindness, and contagious laughter brought joy to countless lives and her spirit lives on in the memories shared by those who loved her. She was preceded in death by her brother the late Luis A. Perez.

Visitation services will be held at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects on February 7, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 1:00 PM. Followed by interment in the Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.

In honoring Neida's memory, we celebrate a life that was lived to its fullest. She may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
